Heart and Home Preschool opened its doors this April 2025!
Located in Highlands Ranch, our fully licensed (L-1), warm and inviting in-home preschool welcomes children ages 2.5–6 into a space created with care, intention, and a deep belief in the magic of early childhood. Our mission is to nurture each child’s emotional well-being, encourage curiosity, and prepare them for kindergarten through structured, play-based learning in a space that feels like home.
We believe that early childhood education lays the foundation for lifelong learning, and our nurturing environment fosters creativity, curiosity, and kindness in every child.

Hi, I’m May, mom of two and a passionate early childhood educator. I’ve completed Colorado’s pre-licensing certification and course work, am CPR-certified, and bring experience from early childhood intervention programs and kindergarten classroom volunteering. I created Heart and Home because I believe in nurturing children with empathy, intention, and joy.
Every detail of Heart and Home Preschool was created with care. From the soft pastel color palette to the whimsical library forest and cozy learning centers, the entire space was designed and decorated with children in mind: low shelving, rounded tables, and cozy corners meant to feel safe, welcoming, and filled with wonder.
At Heart and Home Preschool, we believe children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful connection. Our curriculum is theme based and thoughtfully structured, blending early academics with hands on, creative experiences that promote social-emotional growth and kindergarten readiness. Our classroom size is small with a maximum capacity for 6 little learners.
Each month, we explore new themes that reflect the seasons, holidays, and the natural world; such as weather, bugs, gardens, kindness, or community helpers. These themes are woven into daily circle time, storybooks, art, sensory activities, and learning centers to make every day engaging and developmentally rich.
We rotate through six vibrant learning centers each day, offering children the freedom to explore, create, and grow at their own pace.
Our whimsical library room features a cozy forest mural, soft seating, and a wide range of books. Children can relax with a book, listen to a story, or join group reading sessions that build vocabulary, imagination, and a love of reading.
Children trace letters, match beginning sounds, and engage in early writing exercises to develop literacy and pre-reading skills. Activities are adjusted to meet children where they are developmentally, with plenty of encouragement and praise.
This center changes weekly and includes bins filled with kinetic sand, water beads, rice, or seasonal items. Sensory play supports fine motor development, early math and science concepts, and self-regulation.
Here, children express themselves through painting, drawing, gluing, cutting, stamping, and all things creative! Projects often tie into our weekly theme, helping reinforce ideas in a fun, tactile way while building fine motor skills.
Our largest and most immersive center! Children rotate between themed spaces like a pet shop, grocery store, camping forest, hospital, Home Depot-style workshop, and kitchen. This center encourages storytelling, role-playing, problem-solving, and social interaction.
A peaceful space with soft textures, breathing prompts, and comfort tools. Children can visit this area to rest, reset, or practice self-regulation skills with gentle support.
